  • In their April, 2000, issue, Readers Digest featured an article about the work of Cyberangels. This article not only shared the work of Cyberangels with its readers - "Snaring about four cyberstalkers a week, Beatty has helped over 500 victims. And she's only one of more than 100 Cyberangels online at any given moment" - it also nearly doubled the number of available volunteers within a month of publication!

  • The Boston Globe referred to Aftab's The Parent's Guide to Protecting Your Children in Cyberspace as a "must-read book." (March 16, 2000)

  • The Asbury Park (Neptune, NJ) Press described the Cyberangels mission in regards to children: "As director of online safety sites, Cyberangels, http://www.cyberangels.org, and Weirdkids.org, Aftab is not trying to deter children from the Internet. Her goal, she said, is to get families discussing online safety, and ways to use the Internet as an educational tool. " (February 23, 2000)

  • Boston Herald reporter Stephanie Schorow described her reaction to this mission: "I expected a Cyber Church Lady who would lecture me about Satan's pornographic, bomb-making, hate mongering, misspelled-word-ridden Web sites. Instead, I got a lively discussion with a shrewd mother who is as enamored of the Internet's potential as she is frank about its dark side. "

  • The Denver Post said, "With a staff of volunteers, [Aftab] heads Cyberangels.org, the largest online safety and education program on the Internet. She works with the FBI to identify and hunt down cyber predators. But she adamantly defends the Internet as a valuable resource and medium." (January 22, 2000)

  • Cosmopolitan gave the following advice to readers in an article on stalking online: "Cybersafety tip: If you feel endangered, call the police and consult www.cyberangels.com. " (January, 2000)
